Sofia Vergara Celebrates Miami Life, Empanadas at South Beach Wine & Food Festival
Sofia Vergara brought a touch of Hollywood glamour – and a taste of her entrepreneurial spirit – to Miami Beach this past weekend, attending the 25th anniversary of the South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF). The Colombian-American actress was spotted savoring a TOMA Empanada at the Goya Foods’ Grand Tasting Village on Saturday, February 21, 2026, according to the Miami Herald.
Vergara, 53, known for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on “Modern Family,” has a long-standing connection to South Florida, having begun her modeling career in the region in the 1990s. She frequently shares nostalgic photos on social media, reminiscing about her early days there.
This visit, however, wasn’t solely about revisiting the past. Vergara was also promoting TOMA, the Latin food line she co-founded with her son, Manolo Gonzalez Vergara. The brand, which offers empanadas, croquetas, and pan de bonos, is currently available at Walmart stores.
The mother-son duo’s venture was a central focus of their weekend in Miami. The night before the festival, they dined at Papi Steak, co-owned by hospitality entrepreneur David Grutman, where they reportedly indulged in the restaurant’s signature $1,000 Wagyu tomahawk steak, presented in a gold briefcase.
Vergara also shared a glimpse of Miami’s nightlife with her followers on Instagram, posting a photo from the recently renovated SoFi clubstaurant. Posing with friends in front of the venue’s modern floral wall mural, she captioned the post with a playful message in both English and Spanish: “Miami nights con la familia…puro perreo (clean twerking).”
The actress’s stylish appearance at the festival, sporting a long, red corset dress, also drew attention. The Miami Herald noted the striking outfit.
The South Beach Wine & Food Festival’s Grand Tasting Village, held under the iconic white tents, brought together celebrity chefs, local culinary stars, and enthusiastic festivalgoers for a day of indulgence. American celebrity chef Guy Fieri also made an appearance at the event, which marked its 25th anniversary this year.
The festival continued on Sunday, featuring events like “3 to 5 on Ocean Drive,” a David Grutman Experience, and a mini music festival. Tickets and information were available at sobewff.org.
