Solar Landscape Secures $175M for Rooftop Solar Projects

Solar Landscape, a New Jersey-based commercial rooftop solar developer, has partnered with PGIM Private Capital to secure $175 million in long-term debt financing. This investment will support 74 commercial rooftop solar projects across Maryland and Illinois, adding nearly 43 megawatts (DC) of solar capacity to the distributed grid.
The projects span three million square feet of commercial rooftops. Clayton Avent,CFO of Solar Landscape,emphasized the importance of commercial rooftop solar as a readily available energy source,stating that the financing will accelerate project construction. This partnership builds upon Walmart’s tax equity investment from October 2024, with further deployments planned.
Ingrida Soldatova, Senior Principal, Real Assets—Power at PGIM Private Capital, noted that the investment aligns with their commitment to clean energy. Soldatova said that Solar Landscape’s approach of building solar projects on existing commercial buildings allows for rapid and efficient energy deployment close to where it is needed.
More than a dozen projects in Maryland are already energized, with the remaining projects expected to be operational in 2025. This expansion aims to improve community access to sustainable energy sources.
