Soldering semiconductors using the induction heating method used in kitchen appliances. It minimizes surrounding influence and heats only the desired area.
Jinwoo E&T, which participated in the ‘2024 Next Generation Semiconductor Packaging Industry Exhibition (ASPS)’, introduced ‘non-contact soldering’ equipment.
Non-contact soldering is an application of the induction heating method. Induction heating for kitchen utensils is based on the principle that a magnetic field generated by passing current through a coil causes eddy currents on the metal surface, generating heat. Non-contact soldering adds a technology that concentrates the magnetic field to one part, generating high heat only in a specific area.

A Jinwoo E&T official explained, “It heats without contact, so it does not affect the PCB board, which is weak to heat, and can only transfer heat to the parts where there is metal.”
He continued, “It can easily solder heat sinks and copper wires that are difficult to solder with a soldering iron by heating them from the inside,” adding, “It also transfers sufficient heat to parts that require a lot of heat for soldering, such as electric vehicle batteries.”
Meanwhile, this exhibition was held from the 28th to the 30th at the Suwon Convention Center in Gyeonggi Province.
