Incident Details

The ​detonation ‍occurred around 11:00 a.m.‍ at the ‘Álvarez de Sotomayor’ facilities,which are attached to​ the ‘King Alfonso XIII’ II Brigade of the Legion base. According ​to a statement from the ‌Spanish⁣ Army, ‌the cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.

The deceased has been identified as soldier Daniel Ruiz Mateo, who was assigned to ⁤the Maneuver Field‍ Command. The injured soldier, Alejandro Carvajal Povedano, also from the same unit, ​is receiving treatment at the⁢ Torrecárdenas University⁢ hospital in Almería.
