Son’s four first-half assists tied the LAFC club record for both a single half and a single match. He became only the second player in Major League Soccer (MLS) history to record four assists in one half.

The scoring opened in the seventh minute when Son burst down the right side and delivered a low cross that was deflected into the net by Orlando defender David Brekalo, resulting in an own goal.
