New details have emerged in the King Raghuvanshi murder case in meghalaya, pointing to a complex scheme orchestrated by Sonam Raghuvanshi. According to Shillong police, Sonam allegedly planned to kill another woman and fake her own death to evade detection.
A senior police official stated that the plan involved killing a woman and burning her body to make it appear as if Sonam had died. this woudl allow her to remain hidden until the truth was revealed. The mastermind behind this conspiracy is believed to be Sonam’s lover,Raj Kushwaha, with Sonam’s consent.
SP Vivek Syem of Eastern Khasi Hills district reported that the conspiracy to murder King Raghuvanshi was hatched in Indore before their marriage on May 11. raja, 29, and Sonam, 24, disappeared in Sohra on May 23.Raja’s body was discovered near Weisadong Falls on June 2, and Sonam surrendered in Ghazipur on June 9.
Police also arrested Raj Kushwaha and three of his friends—Vishal, Akash, and Anand, one of whom is Raj’s cousin. Syem clarified that this was not a सुपारी killing. The three friends assisted Raj, who provided Rs 50,000 for expenses.
The police inquiry revealed that the conspiracy began in indore in February. The initial plan involved Sonam pretending to have drowned in a river. When that failed, they devised a second plan to kill a woman, burn the body, and misidentify it as Sonam. The accused initially considered carrying out the murder in Guwahati, but Sonam later suggested Sohra. On May 23,after meeting in Nongriat, the three allegedly killed Raja with a sharp weapon (‘dava’) at Visadong Falls between 2:00 and 2:18 p.m.and disposed of the body. Sonam was present at the scene and gave Akash a blood-stained raincoat, which was later discarded.
Disguised in a burqa, Sonam traveled by taxi to Guwahati, then by bus and train to Siliguri (West Bengal), Patna, Ara, Lucknow, and finally Indore. A tour guide’s statement about seeing Sonam and Raja with three other people provided a crucial lead for the police. Raj instructed sonam to leave Indore and go to Siliguri, pretending to have been kidnapped. However, after akash’s arrest on June 8,Raj panicked, leading to Sonam’s surrender in ghazipur.
Authorities have recovered the raincoat and a scooter. SP syem stated, “We are recording the statement, interrogation is going on, and we will file a charge sheet in 90 days.”
