Arista Records Names Clio massey and Matt D’Arduini Co-Presidents

Sony Music Entertainment announced Tuesday that Clio Massey and Matt D’Arduini have been appointed co-presidents of Arista Records. The move comes two months after David Massey, who relaunched the label in 2018, retired.
Clio Massey, previously general manager of Work of Art Publishing and VP of A&R at arista, will continue to oversee Work of art Publishing. D’Arduini, formerly executive vice president of A&R, has been with Arista since it’s relaunch. Both will report to Sony Music Group chairman Rob Stringer.
Stringer said the transition would be seamless. He added that Clio and Matt are dynamic executives well-suited to build on Arista’s artist development. He believes their combined skills will lead to an exciting future for the label.
Arista Records, initially founded by Clive Davis in 1974, was known for artists such as Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. After shuttering in 2011, David Massey revived the label in 2018. The new Arista achieved success with Måneskin and their hit cover of “Beggin’.” The roster also includes JP Saxe and Lola brooke.

D’Arduini added that they are eager to expand on Arista’s progress, cultivating even more talent. He also expressed gratitude for the support from Sony Music.
