Sony Music India & the Hello Group Launch Joint Venture THG India

Sony Music india and The Hello Group, based in Los Angeles, have announced a joint venture, THG India, too provide Indian artists with global touring opportunities and management services. This partnership combines Sony’s expertise in the local market with THG’s international live touring network, aiming to boost the global presence of Indian music.
Vinit Thakkar, managing director of Sony Music India, said this is a notable moment for the Indian music industry. He added that the partnership strategically empowers Indian artists by combining THG’s global touring strength with Sony’s local expertise.
Taylor Jones, CEO of The Hello Group, said the Indian music scene has astonishing talent and global influence. Jones added that THG India reinforces their commitment to building a robust platform for these artists.
THG’s publishing arm has achieved over 50 Billboard No. 1 chart results for artists including BTS and The chainsmokers. Their booking agency has organized worldwide tours for artists such as Jeff Satur and Greyson Chance.
Format Fusion
Nippon TV of Japan and Blue Ant Studios have formed a strategic partnership to develop and produce unscripted formats from Gyokuro studios for North American markets. This collaboration builds on Blue Ant’s adaptation of Nippon TV’s “Old Enough!,” with a second season planned for TVO.
Both companies have successful track records, with Nippon TV known for “Dragons’ Den/Shark Tank” and Blue Ant for Netflix’s “Blown Away.” Tom Miyauchi from Nippon TV and Matt Hornburg and Diane Rankin from Blue Ant will lead the partnership, focusing on adapting Japanese formats for North American audiences.

Historian and broadcaster David Olusoga has launched Hillgate Films, a production company focused on history-based documentaries and series. BBC Studios is providing a first-look distribution deal in exchange for growth support.
