Chizzy Akudolu to Host ‘Sorry, I Didn’t Know’ Season 6 on ITV

ITV’s panel show, Sorry, I Didn’t Know, is returning for a sixth season. This makes it ITV’s longest-running show from TriForce Productions, a Black-led production company. The upcoming season will see a change in hosts.
Chizzy Akudolu is stepping into the host’s role, replacing Jimmy akingbola. Akingbola is currently filming the final season of Peacock’s Bel-Air. Akudolu will work alongside team captain Eddie kadi. Comedian adn actor Richard Blackwood will also join as a new team captain, taking Akudolu’s former spot.
Filming is scheduled for the summer. Like previous seasons, a variety of guest names will participate. Past guests include Adjoa Andoh, Gina yashere, and munya Chawawa. Akingbola will remain as an executive producer and may host future seasons.
The show’s format involves team captains and guests competing in quiz rounds centered on Black history. It is considered one of the longest-running shows from a Black-led autonomous production company across all UK networks. The new season promises more engaging content and comedic moments, solidifying its role in showcasing Black history and talent on british television.
Fraser Ayres, an executive with TriForce Productions, spoke about the host change. ”Chizzy has been part of the SIDK family since our pilot in 2016 and was amazing when she hosted an episode last series, so it’s great to see her in the hosting seat,” Ayres said. He added,”And in Richard we have the perfect sparring partner for Eddie – they’re long-time friends and he has already shown he’s a brilliant and hilarious guest,so we are thrilled he will be joining the team on the regular.”
Katie Rawcliffe and Gemma John-Lewis commissioned the sixth series. Executive producers for TriForce Productions include Fraser Ayres, Minnie Ayres, and Akingbola. Delia Williams is the series producer. The show’s continued success highlights the importance of Black history and representation in British media, making it a key program for ITV.
