MUBI announced that “The History of Sound,” starring Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor, will be released in the U.S.on Sept. 12. The period romance drama premiered at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. The film follows two men collecting traditional songs in Maine, developing a love affair.
