Sounders FC Drawn into Star-Studded Group for 2025 FIFA Club World Cup
RENTON,WASH. – Sounders FC will face some of the world’s biggest clubs in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, after being drawn into Group B alongside European giants paris Saint-Germain and Atlético Madrid, and also Brazilian powerhouse Botafogo. The tournament, featuring 32 of the world’s top clubs, will take place from June 15 to July 13, 2025, across 12 locations in the United States.
Seattle’s home turf, lumen Field, will host six matches, including all three of Sounders FC’s group Stage encounters. This marks the Rave Green’s first-ever competitive or friendly matchup against any of their Group Stage opponents.

Sounders FC qualified for the Club World Cup after winning the 2022 Concacaf Champions Cup, becoming the only MLS side to conquer the continental competition. Thay are one of two MLS clubs in the tournament, alongside Inter Miami CF, who were selected by FIFA as the host country representative after winning the 2024 Supporters’ shield.
The Rave Green kick off their campaign against 2024 Copa Libertadores champion Botafogo, a historic South American club currently leading the Brazilian top flight.
Next up is a clash with Spanish powerhouse Atlético Madrid, an 11-time La Liga champion and 10-time Copa del Rey winner. Currently sitting third in La Liga, Atlético qualified for the Club World Cup based on its UEFA ranking over the past four years.
Seattle concludes the group Stage against French giants paris Saint-germain,a 12-time Ligue 1 champion,including the 2023-2024 campaign.PSG, currently leading the 2024-2025 Ligue 1 standings, also qualified based on its UEFA ranking.
