Customs Inspectors Seize Sweets and Fake Items Worth 7.5 Million Lei
The Romanian Customs Authority has announced a significant seizure of counterfeit goods, including sweets, clothing, and toys, worth over 1.5 million euros.
The seizure was made by customs inspectors from the South Constanța and Constanţa Border Customs Offices, who discovered the goods in three containers arriving from China.
The seized items include over four tonnes of sweets, 50,000 items of clothing, and 7,000 toys, suspected to be fake. The goods belong to commercial companies with headquarters in Bucharest and Chisinau.
The Romanian Customs Authority warns that counterfeit goods pose risks to the health and safety of citizens, despite being sold at attractive prices. The value of the seized goods would be around 7.5 million lei if sold at the retail price of an original product.
