Wolvaardt’s Record-Breaking Century

After winning the toss and electing to bat,South Africa initially stumbled with the early dismissal of Faye Tunnicliife. Though, captain Laura Wolvaardt anchored the innings with a blistering 115 not out off just 52 deliveries, marking the seventh-fastest century in Women’s T20 International history.

Wolvaardt’s innings was characterized by aggressive strokeplay, including 15 fours and four sixes. Sune Luus provided crucial support,contributing 81 runs to the total.

Ireland Struggles in Chase

The South African total of 221 proved too challenging for Ireland. Their chase got off to a disastrous start, losing two wickets – Amy Hunter and Orla Prendergast – within the first over.

Despite a brief recovery led by captain Gaby Lewis (30) and Leah Paul (34), the Irish side was ultimately bowled out for 115 in 18 overs. Sune Luus was particularly effective with the ball, claiming four wickets.
