Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, visited former President Moon Jae-in at his private residence in Pyeongsan Village, Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam-do, on the afternoon of the 8th. During the visit, Lee Jae-myung criticized the prosecution’s recent investigation targeting former President Moon Jae-in’s family, stating that “the current government’s actions are political oppression that is incomprehensible both politically and legally.”
According to Cho Seung-rae, the Democratic Party’s chief spokesperson, Lee Jae-myung made these remarks during his visit to former President Moon’s residence. Lee Jae-myung questioned the investigation into former President Moon’s family, asking, “Isn’t this a means to rally a handful of supporters?” Former President Moon responded, “It’s basically something that my family and I should be able to handle, but I’m grateful to the party,” and added, “I’ll face it with confidence and strength.”
