The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has announced extended road closures along the southeast side of Columbus, impacting key interchanges on Interstate 270 and U.S. 33. These closures, part of ongoing infrastructure projects, are expected to affect daily commuters and drivers in Franklin County. The affected sections include the I-270/U.S. 33 interchange, where specific ramps will remain closed for 30 to 90 days. According to a report by 10TV, the I-270 northbound ramp to U.S. 33 westbound will close starting March 23, 2026, for 30 days, with a detour routing drivers via I-70 westbound. Similarly, the U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close for 90 days, requiring drivers to take a detour through Hamilton Road. ODOT has also implemented lane reductions on I-270 northbound at U.S. 33, limiting traffic to two lanes for 30 days. Additional closures and lane restrictions are scheduled on other interstates, including the I-270 southbound ramp to I-70 eastbound, which will face daytime and overnight restrictions through March 26, 2026. The agency emphasized that these closures are necessary for resurfacing and pavement reconstruction projects aimed at improving road safety and durability. ODOT spokespersons have urged drivers to plan alternative routes
