The General Department of Taxation organized a dialogue conference with taxpayers in 5 southern provinces and cities in 2024, including Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, and Long An.
Mr. Mai Son, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Taxation, emphasized that the conference was organized with the goal of taking taxpayers as the service center. The dialogue was conducted in the spirit of asking, listening, and not avoiding the recommendations of businesses. The General Department of Taxation will also accept suggestions and recommendations from taxpayers to come up with better solutions to improve and amend tax work.
According to records, a total of 226 questions related to value added tax (VAT), VAT refund, invoices, corporate income tax (CIT), contractor tax, land sector, tax debt, and administrative violations were sent to the conference by businesses.
In addition to direct dialogue with businesses in 5 southern localities, the General Department of Taxation will connect online with all 62 Tax Departments of provinces and cities across the country.
Mr. Nguyen Nam Binh, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, reported that in the first 8 months of the year, Ho Chi Minh City tax industry collected 259,960 billion VND, equal to 73.9% of the yearly estimate, an increase of 20.5% over the same period last year. Of which, revenue from the production and business sector reached 150,000 billion VND, an increase of 16.5% over the same period.
The conference provided a platform for taxpayers to raise their concerns and seek clarification on various tax-related issues. The event aimed to promote transparency, accountability, and cooperation between tax authorities and taxpayers.
