Sowing the Seeds of Progress: Huainan Panji District’s Journey to a Greener Tomorrow
Protecting Seedlings, Green Bookmarks, and Civilized Growth: A Community’s Effort to Promote Healthy Reading Habits
In recent days, Tianji Street in Panji District has carried out the “Protecting Seedlings, Green Bookmarks, and Civilized Growth” activity to let the fragrance of books fill the hearts of young people and help them grow up healthily.
Reading + Protecting Seedlings: Sharing the Beauty of Books
Understand the truth and read with pleasure. Good reading habits are not only helpful for our studies, but also can cultivate our imagination, expression, and creativity. A reading promotion activity for college students with the theme of “Reading accompanies growth, and working together to protect the seedlings” was held at the New Era Civilization Practice Station of Heyuan Community.
A college student volunteer from the area shared his insights on reading. Under his leadership, the students participating in the event spoke freely, shared their own book lists and favorite books, and read their favorite passages. Everyone interacted enthusiastically, making friends through books and talking through writing, and the atmosphere was lively and enthusiastic.
Reading + Volunteering: Building the Foundation for Inheritance
Volunteers from Zhuantang and Kuangbei communities led students in discussing how to choose reading materials suitable for teenagers and how to identify harmful information on the Internet, so that everyone could understand the importance of green reading and how to identify illegal publications.
The event also used quizzes with prizes and role-playing to guide minors to consciously resist harmful information and improve their ability to resist bad culture. Children also wrote promises such as “love books, green reading, and civilized Internet use” on their bookmarks.

Reading + Civilized Practice: Cultivating the Dream of the Future
Entering the New Era Civilization Practice Station of Juyuan Community, volunteers joined hands with children in the area and used their deft hands to make handmade boats together. They hung “green bookmarks” that symbolize pure reading and launched a unique “National Reading + ‘Anti-Pornography and Illegal Publications·Green Bookmarks'” activity.
At the event, the children carefully folded the boats under the guidance of volunteers. With the clever combination of paper pieces, beautiful boats gradually took shape, carrying the children’s desire for knowledge and yearning for a better future. At the tail of the boat, the children hung green bookmarks by themselves, representing their commitment to healthy reading.
In the next step, Tianji Subdistrict will continue to deepen the field of national reading, stimulate the reading interest of residents in the area by holding various forms of reading activities, create a “positive, healthy and pure” cultural atmosphere, and build a solid and strict “green protective wall” for the healthy growth of minors.
