New Airline Routes to Spain Take Off This Summer

Spain is poised for a busy summer travel season as multiple airlines introduce new routes connecting the country with destinations across Europe and North America. Budget carriers such as easyjet, Ryanair, and Jet2 are expanding their Spanish networks, while major airlines including Delta and United Airlines are also adding new services.
Jet2 has initiated routes from Jerez to Birmingham, Manchester, and Leeds in the United Kingdom, operating from May through October 31. EasyJet began service between Reus and Glasgow on June 2. The airline also launched a route from Almería to London Luton on June 1, offering over 14,000 seats, and will commence flights between Madrid and Manchester on June 23, with a capacity of 20,000 seats.
Ryanair is introducing new routes from Castellón to budapest, Hungary, and Krakow, poland, with twice-weekly flights starting this summer. The airline also launched service between Barcelona and Copenhagen, Denmark. Seville will gain new ryanair routes to Baden-Baden, Germany, and Rome Fiumicino, italy, as part of the airline’s summer schedule.
EasyJet expanded service from Palma de Mallorca, launching routes to Strasbourg, France, on June 4, and to Palermo, Italy, on June 23. A new route between Ibiza and Milan-Linate will begin on June 24.
Transatlantic options are also increasing. United Airlines launched a route between Bilbao and New York on june 1, with three weekly flights. Delta Airlines began direct flights between Barcelona and Boston in May, offering three weekly connections throughout the summer. JetBlue also launched a new route between Madrid and Boston in May.
WestJet will begin a seasonal direct route between Halifax, Canada, and barcelona on June 27, operating four times weekly until late September. This marks the first direct connection between Atlantic Canada and Spain.
