Spain Raises Millionaires to 33, Wealth Soars to Record Levels

Spain Raises Millionaires to 33, Wealth Soars to Record Levels

January 19, 2026 Ahmed Hassan - World News Editor World

⁢

The wealth of Spain’s 33 ⁢billionaires grew by almost €28.3 billion compared to the previous year, reaching €197.5 billion, the highest level recorded to date.In real terms, the increase⁣ was 13.6%,”more than ⁣four times the growth expected for the Spanish⁢ economy in 2025,” which‌ is set at 2.9%.

The NGO also warns that the ⁢concentration of wealth is accelerating substantially. The increase in the fortunes of the billionaires was “four times ‌faster than the average of ⁢the⁤ last five ‍years,” equivalent to gains of⁤ more than “€77 million per day” during the last year. To reach that same figure woudl require the annual work of “nearly‌ a ⁤million people,” the NGO counters.

⁤ ‍ The context…
