The England national team, seeking World Cup qualification, traded the pitch for the paddock, attending the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday. Coach Thomas Tuchel and captain Harry Kane led the entire squad to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The team’s visit served as a break from training. England faces Andorra on Saturday, June 7, followed by Senegal three days later. The England squad hopes the Formula 1 experience provides a boost as they pursue World Cup qualification.
During the event, Oscar piastri secured victory, edging out Lando Norris.Kane offered words of encouragement to Norris, who currently trails his McLaren teammate in the championship standings.
“for him, it’s all about readiness,” Kane told Sky Sports.”I’m sure he’s prepared to the best of his ability, and then it’s just going out there and being free. He knows he can do it, he’s won enough already, so hopefully he can go all the way.”
