A Spanish citizen in his 20s has been charged with violence after an attack on a referee during the Norway Cup,according to reports from NRK adn VG. The incident occurred on Monday, July 28th.
The accused is the brother of a footballer who participated in this year’s Norway Cup with the team CF Sant Cebria 2019. He had traveled to Norway with his family to support his brother’s team.
the man is accused of beating an assistant referee during a match. While he initially admitted to the charges to police, his lawyer, Ola Lunde, now states that he does not acknowledge criminal duty.
“He admitted to the police, but my advice is that he does not admit to the charges,” Lunde told VG.
