Prague Sparta has secured the signing of 20-year-old left winger Garang Kuol from Newcastle United, bolstering their attacking options. Kuol has signed a long-term contract with the Czech First League club, as announced by Sparta Prague on Twitter.
Early Career and Development
Kuol began his professional career with Central Coast Mariners in Australia’s A-League,making his first-team debut at just 16 years old. He featured in 22 A-League matches, scoring seven goals and providing four assists. In January 2023, he transferred to Newcastle United, experiencing loan spells with Heart of Midlothian and Volendam to gain further playing time.
During the 2023-2024 season, Kuol impressed for Newcastle’s reserve team, netting five goals and contributing four assists in the Premier league 2.
International Experience
The South Sudanese-born winger has also represented Australia at the international level, earning his first cap at the age of 18. He was part of the Socceroos squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, appearing in the round of 16 match against Argentina. Kuol scored his first international goal a few months later in a pleasant against Ecuador.
