The 97th edition of the Spengler Cup will culminate in a final showdown between the NCAA Collegiate Selects and HC Davos. Both teams secured their places in the championship game following semi-final victories on Tuesday.
US Collegiate Selects Defeat Sparta Prague
The US Collegiate Selects powered past Sparta Prague with a decisive 5-3 win. A hat trick from Fink (goals in the 8th, 39th, and 42nd minutes) led the charge, supported by goals from Pohlkamp (7th minute) and Cerrato (32nd minute). For Sparta Prague, Chlapík scored twice (21st and 53rd minutes) and Vitouch added a goal in the 12th minute.
Davos Overcomes Fribourg
HC Davos advanced to the final after defeating Fribourg 3-1.Stránský (22nd minute), kessler (38th minute), and Ryfors (60th minute) found the back of the net for Davos. Sörensen scored the lone goal for Fribourg in the 31st minute. Slovakian defender Michal Čajkovský was in the Fribourg lineup for the match.
