The 97th‌ edition of the Spengler Cup ⁢ will⁢ culminate​ in a final showdown between the NCAA Collegiate Selects and HC Davos. Both teams secured their places in the championship ⁣game following semi-final victories on Tuesday.

US Collegiate Selects Defeat Sparta Prague

The US Collegiate​ Selects powered past Sparta Prague with a decisive 5-3 win. A hat trick from Fink (goals in the 8th, 39th, and 42nd minutes) ⁤led the charge, ‍supported by goals from ‌Pohlkamp (7th minute) and Cerrato ⁣(32nd minute). For​ Sparta Prague, Chlapík scored twice (21st and 53rd minutes) and Vitouch added a⁢ goal in⁤ the 12th minute.

Davos Overcomes Fribourg

HC Davos advanced to the final after defeating Fribourg 3-1.Stránský (22nd minute), kessler (38th minute), ⁣and ⁤Ryfors (60th minute) found⁢ the back of the net ‍for ⁣Davos. Sörensen scored the lone goal for Fribourg in ‌the 31st ​minute. Slovakian defender Michal Čajkovský‌ was in the Fribourg lineup for ⁣the match.

Goaltending notes

Adam Gajan did not start in goal for the ​Collegiate Selects during their 5-3 victory over Davos in a ‍previous match, though his status for the final is currently unconfirmed.
