Minced Mackerel Recipe
This recipe will have even kids who don’t like fish gobbling it down. Remove the bones, season with a sweet sauce, and fry it to make minced mackerel that goes well with any amount of rice.

Key points when making “Miso Mackerel” /
To make it into minced meat, after scraping out the mackerel, lightly hit it with a knife to break it up. Crushing the small bones at this time will make it easier to eat.
Ingredients for “Minced Mackerel” (easy to make amount)
- 1 mackerel fillet (half) 1/3 long onion
- 1/2 piece ginger
- 1 1/2 tablespoons rapeseed oil (or salad oil) (A)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sake (A)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (A)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Preparation for ”Minced Mackerel”
・Remove the abdominal bone with a knife and remove the small bone in the center with tweezers etc.

How to make “Minced Mackerel”
1. Cut the ingredients
Finely chop the ginger and green onions.

2. Scrape out the mackerel flesh and break it into pieces
Scrape the mackerel flesh out of the skin with a spoon and lightly beat it with a knife.

3. Stir-fry the ingredients
Add oil to a frying pan and place over medium heat. Add the ginger and spring onion and when they start to release their aroma, heat the mackerel while breaking it into pieces.

4. Add seasonings
Once the mackerel is cooked through and has lost its redness and turned whitish, add the sake, sugar, and soy sauce (A) and mix quickly.

5. Simmer
Simmer over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes and drain the liquid.

6. Finish

Put it on hot rice and you have a delicious looking minced mackerel rice bowl.
How to store it?
Once cooled, place in a storage container and store in the refrigerator. It will last for about 3-4 days in the refrigerator, and about 3 weeks if frozen.
