Pepper Prices Today: Latest Updates and Trends
As of September 27, pepper prices in Vietnam have experienced a slight decline, with prices ranging from 148,000 to 149,000 VND/kg. This represents a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day, falling below the 150,000 VND/kg threshold.
Region-specific prices have also been affected, with Dak Lak pepper prices dropping to 149,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day. Similarly, Chu Se pepper prices in Gia Lai have decreased to 148,000 VND/kg, while Dak Nong pepper prices remain at 149,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, pepper prices have dropped sharply by 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day. Specifically, Ba Ria – Vung Tau has seen prices decrease to 148,000 VND/kg, while Binh Phuoc’s pepper prices remain at 148,000 VND/kg.
Global pepper prices, as reported by the International Pepper Association (IPC), have shown mixed trends. Indonesia’s Lampung black pepper prices have increased to 6,920 USD/ton, up 0.62%, while Muntok white pepper prices have reached 9,458 USD/ton, up 0.61%. In contrast, Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper prices have decreased to 6,600 USD/ton, down 2.22%.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remain stable at 8,800 USD/ton, while ASTA white pepper prices have reached 11,200 USD/ton. Vietnamese black pepper prices continue to trade at a high level, with 500 g/l type prices at 6,800 USD/ton and 550 g/l type prices at 7,100 USD/ton. White pepper prices in Vietnam are currently at 10,150 USD/ton.
In recent weeks, Vietnam’s export prices for black pepper and white pepper have shown an upward trend, although black pepper prices have remained stable. In the first half of September 2024, Vietnam exported 6,917 tons of pepper, earning 42.3 million USD. Compared to August, export volume decreased by 30%, reaching only 10,082 tons and 58.8 million USD.
