What is “Spinners” About?

Season 2: Production Details
Season 2 of “Spinners” is a co-production between African streaming service Showmax and Canal+. The season is being shot on location in South Africa, with Benjamin Hoffman returning as showrunner and co-creator. Jaco Bouwer, known for his work on the SXSW prizewinning eco-horror movie “Gaia,” is directing. Matthew Jankes and Sean Steinberg are also back to pen the scripts for season 2.
Joachim Landau is producing for Federation Middle East Africa & Caribbean, and Ramadan Suleman (“Zulu Love Letter”) is co-producing through his South African company Natives at Large.
The Canal+ and Showmax Connection
Studiocanal, the sister company of Canal+, is presenting a first look at season 2 at Mipcom. This collaboration illustrates the growing creative synergies between Canal+ and Showtime, the streaming service of MultiChoice, the pan-African pay-TV operator that is now fully owned by Canal+. The recent approval of the Canal+ acquisition of MultiChoice solidifies this partnership and its potential to expand content offerings across sub-Saharan Africa.
