Spurs Star in Doubt: Son Heung-min’s Fitness Hangs in the Balance Ahead of Crystal Palace Clash
Son Heung-min Expected to Miss Crystal Palace Match
Tottenham coach Anzhi Postekoglou announced in a press conference that Son Heung-min is not yet 100% fit and will participate in training today.
Son Heung-min suffered a hamstring injury in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League against Garabach on September 27. He missed Tottenham’s three matches and the 3rd and 4th qualifying rounds of the 3rd Asian qualifiers of the World Cup North and Central America 2026 (Jordan and Iraq).
After completing rehabilitation, he returned on the 19th through the 8th round of the Premier League against West Ham United, scoring his third goal of the season. However, he felt pain again after the West Ham game and missed the Europa League third leg match against AZ Alkmaar on the 25th.
As a result, Son Heung-min is likely to miss the 9th round Premier League game against Crystal Palace, causing concern for both Tottenham and coach Hong Myung-bo.
Hong Myung-bo will play away matches against Kuwait on November 14th and Palestine on November 19th in the 5th and 6th matches of the 3rd qualifying round of the 2026 Asia North and Central America World Cup. Following the 3rd and 4th matches, there is a high possibility that Plan B will have to be activated without Son Heung-min. The November A game roster will be announced on November 4th.
