Soon after, Morgan Rodgers capitalized on defensive confusion from a corner kick for the Roosters to put Villa ahead.
Tottenham conceded their 20th goal since the start of last season from set pieces under Postecoglou.
Burnan Johnson equalized for Tottenham in the 49th minute of the second half by converting Son Heung-min’s cross into the net.
Son was surprised by his coach’s decision to replace him in the 56th minute and replace him with Richarlison.
In the 75th minute, Solanke scored to give Tottenham the lead with a drop shot that took advantage of Dejan Kulusevski’s build-up.
He extended the lead with a third goal four minutes later, converting Richarlison’s cross into the net.
Solank was fouled in the 90+5th minute, and James Maddison scored the Roosters’ fourth goal from a direct free kick in superb fashion, sealing victory for the Roosters.
Maddison reached number 50 in the English Premier League.
He is the third player to score from a direct free kick in the English Premier League this season, after Danny Willebeck and Cole Palmer.
