St. Petersburg Adds NASCAR Trucks to IndyCar Weekend

NASCAR Trucks to⁢ Race on St. Petersburg ⁢Street ⁢Circuit in 2026

in a landmark decision, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck​ Series will⁤ make history by competing on a street course ‌for the first time ever⁤ at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in 2026. This event, a collaboration with‌ IndyCar,‍ will see⁢ the Trucks race on‍ Saturday, February 28th, with ‍IndyCar following on ‌Sunday, March 1st, marking the IndyCar season opener for its 16th consecutive year.

The⁣ event is facilitated by⁤ a broadcast agreement with FOX Sports, covering both ​races. Kim Green, of Green Savoree‌ Racing Promotions, emphasized the enhanced fan experiance, highlighting both IndyCar qualifying and the historic Truck‍ series race on Saturday.

While the trucks and IndyCar compete in St. Petersburg, the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series will simultaneously race at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas.
