November 29, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor World

SPC Launches AI Certification Programs

St. Petersburg College will start two new Artificial Intelligence certificate programs in early 2024. These programs will help students find jobs in AI, machine learning, and data science.

Jimmy Chang, the interim dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, stated, “This is a great starting point for anyone curious about Artificial Intelligence. We provide an overview of AI applications and technology, making people more comfortable with AI.”

The 9-credit Artificial Intelligence Responsible Use Certificate focuses on AI theories, applications, and ethical usage. The 18-credit Artificial Intelligence Responsible Use Practitioner Certificate offers practical skills in machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and data analysis. This program includes two programming courses transferable to SPC’s Data Science A.S. Degree.

Classes will be available online or on the St. Petersburg/Gibbs and Clearwater campuses during SPC’s 8-week sessions. Enrollment is open now.
