Investigators report that a 40-year-old man from Mulberry was driving a Nissan sedan eastbound when his vehicle crossed into the westbound lane. The Nissan struck a mid-size Volkswagen head-on.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 17-year-old, was killed in the collision. The Mulberry man sustained serious injuries and remained hospitalized following the event.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers allege that Everson walked away from the scene of the crash on foot. He then reportedly ordered an Uber to return to his home in St. Petersburg with his 8-year-old son.
