Standing Strong for the Voiceless: Erdogan’s Powerful Pledge to the UN Future Summit

Standing Strong for the Voiceless: Erdogan’s Powerful Pledge to the UN Future Summit

September 12, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor News

President⁢ Erdoğan Addresses the ⁤United Nations Future Summit

President Erdoğan ‍emphasized the need for peace and a stronger international stance against Israel’s occupation policies in a video message to⁣ the ‌United Nations Future Summit.

Key Takeaways from Erdoğan’s⁤ Statement

We need peace.‌ Challenges such as terrorism, ⁣Islamophobia and xenophobia, irregular migration and climate change increase the severity of geopolitical shocks. We have been seeing the most painful example of this in the‍ occupied Palestinian territories,⁢ especially in Gaza, for 11 months.

We‍ are facing a devastating picture where more than 41 ⁤thousand people, including‌ 17 thousand children, ‍lost⁤ their lives, more than 100 thousand were ⁢injured, and‍ almost the whole of Gaza was destroyed. It is essential that ⁣the voice of the international‌ community, especially the United Nations, is louder against ⁣Israel’s occupation policies.

In truth, none of us can feel safe in a world where ⁣children die under bombs. As Türkiye, we will continue to stand against oppression and on the⁣ side ‌of the oppressed, and we will not step back from our humanitarian stance.
