Roannais, France ⁢- Get ready for a slight⁤ change in your pocket: ⁢Starting January 1, 2025, the price of a single bus ticket on the Star network will increase by five ‍cents, rising from ⁣$1.35 to⁢ $1.40. The decision was made Thursday evening by Roannais ⁤Agglomération, the ‍authority responsible for urban transportation.

“This wasn’t necessarily our ⁣intention, but the⁣ ticket price hasn’t changed since‍ 2015,” explained Jean-Luc Chervin, vice ⁣president in charge of‍ transportation.”This⁢ increase was requested by the Star network as we⁢ are one of the last networks with a price that includes ⁣cents. this complicates change-making for ‍drivers‍ and slows down service.”

Drivers had even advocated for a $1.50⁤ fare to make the price even more convenient. While the⁢ single ticket price is increasing, ⁤the cost of a ‍ten-ticket⁢ booklet will⁤ remain at $10.

Chervin also noted that‍ the family quotient⁣ for subscriptions has been raised to expand⁢ access to the‍ solidarity pricing system.
