Expert Advice

According to John Kiernan, an editor, “If ‍you are late with your car loan payment, try ⁢to bring your account ⁤up to date quickly to minimize the consequences.‍ If you pay less than 30 days late, ⁢your delinquency will not be reported to credit agencies, although you will probably still have a late payment fee.”

kiernan added, “if you are more‍ than 30 days late, talk⁢ to your lender so that the repossession process of your car does not begin while you decide how to pay. Ask if your lender has a plan to deal with economic difficulties, or try strategies such as cutting other expenses or consolidating debts.”
