Daxi wood craftsmanship has been passed down for hundreds of years. The “wood art industry” that provides a one-stop service from raw materials, wood processing, design, and customization has developed from the Qing Dynasty to the Japanese colonial period.

The birth of a custom-made piece of furniture relies on the carpenter’s understanding of customer needs, the top skills of design and production, and the considerate consideration of the user’s life and usage situation.

The Wood Museum has invited local Daxi woodcraft companies to participate in the exhibition, including Sanhe Woodcraft Workshop, Dayi Art, Tanghe Shenzhu, Moofoo, Hefeng Wood Creation, Xiesheng Woodware, Xinyuqing Woodware, and Tuna Do Studio.

The “Second Daxi International Wood Furniture Craft Design Competition” is now being announced. The preliminary registration starts from now until February 3, 2015. The theme is “Storage”.

The Wood Museum continues to actively connect talents, establish a support system, and enhance international exchanges of local crafts through wood art theme research, curation, and organizing cultural festivals and competitions.
