Step into Luxury: Ferragamo Unveils Electrifying Spring-Summer 2025 Hypebeast Collection
Ferragamo Unveils Spring/Summer 2025 Collection
Ferragamo has officially launched its new spring and summer 2025 series, with creative director Maximilian Davis delving into the brand’s rich history and its connection to ballet. This latest collection celebrates the elegant form of expression while finding a new harmony between Davis’ personal history and the brand’s heritage.
A Celebration of Freedom and Expression
An intimate moment in time, captured through the exchange between Salvatore Ferragamo and dancer and anthropologist Katherine Dunham, showcases the brand’s commitment to freedom and self-expression. In medieval Florence, a pair of well-fitting shoes became a radical symbol of black women’s liberation. This snapshot in time has been distilled to its essence, inspiring the latest collection.
Blending Tradition and Modernity
Davis said: “I always incorporate different historical eras into my work, eras that are closely connected to me and tradition. I found similarities in this brand in that there are so many different stories that resonate with people, a meaning, a story behind every pair of shoes.”
Ferragamo’s visual language seamlessly integrates the spirit of ballet from different eras. Workout wear is inspired by layered cotton cashmere, while balloon cuts reveal the fluidity of movement. Opera jackets and parachute dresses are crafted in materials such as silk nylon, suede, and organza. Nureyev’s 80s wardrobe is filled with loose, functional tailoring and functional sportswear. Dunham’s mid-century glamour is brought to life through sequin embroidery and modernized through resin treatments.
A Fusion of Caribbean Energy and Italian Craftsmanship
The collection also exudes Caribbean energy with frayed edges, stonewashed denim, organic shapes, and rubber loafers. Raw finishes contrast with the collection’s purity; raised hems infuse a romantic, swooning air. Ferragamo expressions are everywhere: the brand’s leather craftsmanship is revealed through intricate Gancini designs, while the monogram appears in a collection of sustainably stonewashed denim jacquards and perforated bags.
