Yokkaichi City Kusunoki History and Folklore Museum to Host Special Autumn Night Opening

The Yokkaichi City Kusunoki History and Folklore Museum, located in Hongo, Kusunoki-cho, Yokkaichi City, is set to host a special autumn night opening on September 28th from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event promises to be an exciting and engaging experience for visitors of all ages.

During the event, visitors can participate in a variety of activities, including a workshop called “Let’s play with shellfish!” and a concert by the flute horn duo “Shizaki~SHIEMI~.” The workshop will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will allow participants to enjoy the Heian period aristocratic game “shellwork.” The curators of the Yokkaichi City Museum have painted shells related to Yokkaichi City and camphor trees, and participants can enjoy a total of 20 delicate and colorful paintings of the Yokkaichi Asunarou Railway, the Great Nyudo, and the Whale Ship.

In addition to the workshop and concert, the museum will also offer traditional play experiences, a storyteller giving a tour of the museum, and a variety of food and drink options, including baked sweet potatoes, kuji, shaved ice, and tamasu. The museum will also be illuminated with a lantern festival from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
