Step Up to the Plate: Revised Schedule Unveiled for WBSC Blind Baseball International Cup
WBSC Blind Baseball International Cup 2024 Schedule Released
The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has released an updated eight-team schedule for the WBSC Blind Baseball International Cup 2024, taking place from 27-29 September in Farnham Park, London (UK), following the withdrawal of Tanzania.
The eight teams have been evenly split across the two groups, with Hungary moving from Group B to Group A to replace Tanzania, who withdrew due to logistical reasons. This change maintains the continental balance, as Hungary is the only European team in Group B that did not participate in the inaugural WBSC Blind Baseball International Cup in 2022.
Updated Schedule
The WBSC has released a new schedule with the eight participating teams:
The opening games on Friday, 27 September, have changed to feature defending champions Italy and China at 09:00 (local time) on Field 1, while Hungary will take on the USA on Field 2 at the same time.
Competition Format
The first two days of competition will see the participants complete the Opening Round. The semifinals will take place on Saturday, with the second-ranked team in Group B playing the top-ranked team in Group A, and the other semifinal featuring the second-ranked team in Group A against the top-ranked team in Group B.
Finals and Closing Ceremony
Following the semifinals, the tournament will conclude on Sunday with the bronze medal game at 09:00, the gold medal game at 11:30, followed by a closing ceremony.
