Stepping Up to the Plate: Blue Winds Presents Thrilling 2024 College Sports Day at National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya

For three days from September 14th to 16th, we held a viewing and cheering event titled “Blue Winds presents 2024 College Sports Day,” where we watched the game between Kagoshima University of Technology and Kagoshima University in the “112th Kyushu Regional University Baseball Championship Kagoshima Regional Qualifier.”

The purpose of College Sports Day is to hold university sports matches using the facilities of the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya, providing an opportunity for local residents to easily visit the university, watch sports, and cheer on and support the students, thereby revitalizing the region.

In the match on the first day, the 14th, the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya took the lead with four points in the first attack and got into the swing of things from the beginning, winning 10-0.

On the 15th, the day after the second day, the second match of the previous day was continued due to strong winds, and as a result the first match that was originally scheduled was postponed, so the start time of the second match, between Kanoya University of Technology and Kagoshima University, was moved up from the scheduled time.

In this match, Kagoshima University showed tenacious play, perhaps due to the disappointment of the previous day, and although the University of Physical Education was at one point leading by three points, they refused to give up until the end and won again with a score of 10-5.

During the two-day event, KYT announcer Kumaki and others provided live commentary and handed out original Blue Winds goods to liven up the matches. However, due to the unfortunate strong winds and bad weather, we were unable to fully implement the experience booths that we had originally planned. We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the event.

Over the three days, there were 218 attendees and 275 live stream viewers.
