Biden’s Cognitive Decline: What Role Did Howard Stern Play?
President Joe Biden’s cognitive state has come under renewed scrutiny following claims in Jake Tapper’s upcoming book, ”Original Sin.” The book reportedly suggests that Biden’s cognitive decline was noticeable to those around him, including cabinet members and White House insiders. Even George Clooney reportedly witnessed it firsthand.
Amid concerns about Biden’s fitness for office, his team sought a amiable journalist for an interview in April 2024,hoping to boost his re-election prospects. They chose Howard Stern, the former shock jock, now seen by some as a Democratic supporter.
Critics argue that Stern avoided tough questions during the interview, such as those about the Afghanistan withdrawal, Hunter Biden’s laptop, or alleged censorship efforts. Instead, Stern offered praise, saying, “You’re the kind of leader I love because we’re lucky to have you in the Oval Office,” and thanking Biden for “providing a calming, influential and organized governance.”
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Hillary Clinton’s team played a key role in arranging the Stern interview. Gary Dell’abate, Stern’s executive producer, said Clinton’s people assured Biden’s team that Stern’s show was “a good place to be.”
Some observers contrast Stern’s current approach with his earlier career, suggesting he has become a “woke” figure who provides a safe space for Democrats. This perceived shift makes the interview, in retrospect, even more controversial.
Tapper is now promoting “Original Sin,” a move some see as hypocritical, given his alleged participation in downplaying concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities. Critics await an apology from Stern for what they view as a favorable interview.
