Steve‍ Gunn announces instrumental album

Guitarist Steve Gunn is set to release a new instrumental album, music ⁢for Writers, on Aug. 15 via Three Lobed. A preview track, “Slow Singers on the Hill,” is currently‍ available.

Music for Writers, Gunn’s first⁢ solo album since⁢ 2021’s Other You, was ⁤recorded in Brooklyn, Berlin and Latvia. Ernie Indridat mixed the nearly 47-minute album, ⁣and Carl⁣ Saff handled ⁤mastering.

Since Other​ You, gunn has​ collaborated with David Moore of Bing & Ruth on Let the Moon ⁤Be a Planet and⁢ Live in London. He also ⁣teamed with ⁣John Truscinski on Flam,and with Shahzad⁣ Ismaily,Zoh Amba and jim ⁣White for Beings’ There ⁢Is a Garden.

What’s next

Gunn’s upcoming ‌instrumental project promises ​a ⁢collection of evocative soundscapes, adding another dimension to his ‍already diverse discography.
