Steven Seagal Linked to Weapons Trafficking Network

U.S. Actor Steven Seagal has been identified by Ukrainian authorities as a recipient of weapons provided by an illegal arms trafficking network. The disclosure comes as part of a broader effort by Ukraine to dismantle a criminal operation that allegedly supplied weapons to pro-Russian politicians and public figures.

In a statement released on April 28, 2026, the National Police of Ukraine detailed the dismantling of a network that funneled arms to a variety of high-profile individuals. According to the police, the network sourced its weapons from temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories as well as through illegal imports from Slovakia.

Distribution of Weapons as Prizes

The investigation revealed that some of the weapons were distributed under the guise of prizes. These items were allegedly handed out by Denis Pushilin, who serves as the head of the Russian-installed administration in the occupied Donetsk Oblast.

The list of individuals who reportedly received these prize weapons includes senior Russian officials and foreign leaders. The National Police of Ukraine identified the following recipients in their statement:

Scope of the Criminal Investigation

The probe into the trafficking ring began in January 2026. Police investigators uncovered an organized criminal group that was involved in both the smuggling and the modification of weapons. These activities reportedly took place as arms moved between Europe and Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine.

The operation has led to multiple arrests and involves ongoing international cooperation to fully address the cross-border nature of the smuggling ring.

Steven Seagal’s Ties to Russia

Steven Seagal rose to international prominence as an action film star during the 1980s and 1990s. As his career in Hollywood declined, he developed close personal and political ties to Russia and President Vladimir Putin.

Seagal is a Russian citizen and has been an outspoken supporter of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Since the start of the full-scale war, he has visited Russian-occupied territories and has actively promoted pro-Kremlin narratives.
