Stewart: Trump Drove Musk Out of Government
jon Stewart Roasts Elon Musk’s White House Stint
Jon Stewart didn’t hold back on The Daily Show, targeting Elon Musk’s departure from his advisory role. Stewart quipped that DOGE, seemingly referring to Musk, had ousted an inefficient government worker.
Stewart noted Musk’s transition from an eager participant to a “poor bastard” with a black eye, referencing photos from a press conference with President donald Trump. He likened Musk’s appearance to someone who’d had a rough night,a stark contrast to his earlier enthusiasm.
Stewart also alluded to Musk’s interview on CBS News, suggesting The Daily Show would have offered a more unfiltered platform. He mocked Musk for deflecting questions about White House policy by talking about “spaceships.”
Stewart concluded that working for Trump requires simply “rolling with the punches,” as the former president prioritizes attention, ego-stroking, and money above all else. He warned that anyone entering Trump’s orbit risks losing themselves.
“He went from tech titan, given a mandate to move fast and crush the deep state to guy who had a bad night in a Nashville bar he can’t remember, OK? He’s got that look, like, ‘Has anyone seen my shoes?’ He looks beaten down.”
