Clarification on Tropical Cyclone “Cimaron” from the Meteorological Department
The Meteorological Department would like to clarify that recent information circulating about natural disasters does not originate from the department. This message is from an unauthorized individual or agency, which can cause misunderstandings.
According to the Meteorological Department’s monitoring and forecasting, a tropical cyclone named “Cimaron” (CIMARON) is currently present in the Pacific Ocean. This storm has tropical storm-level intensity and is expected to weaken over time.
A low-pressure system has formed in the eastern area of the Philippines and is likely to strengthen into a tropical cyclone. It may develop into a dust storm and move towards Taiwan. However, a high air pressure system or a strong cold air mass from China will spread to cover upper Vietnam on September 30, 2024, and continue to expand, resulting in increased rainfall in Thailand during the early stages, followed by cooler weather.
This storm does not have a direct impact on Thailand’s weather. Although the air pressure is high, it will weaken as it moves closer to the east coast of China and will not approach Vietnam or the upper northern region of Thailand. The storm may also weaken before reaching land.
Residents are advised to closely follow weather forecast information during this period, as the weather season is changing, and variations may occur on some days.
