Dr. Weerawut Imsamran, Inspector General of the Ministry of Public Health, Health Region 8, has issued a warning to 9 provinces to beware of heavy rains and floods this weekend, September 20-22.
The warning comes after a teleconference on Public Health and Medical Preparedness for Floods, Storms, and Landslides No. 4/2024. According to the data from August 17 to September 20, 2024, the situation has dropped to 13 provinces, including Chiang Rai, Lampang, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakhon Nayok, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Udon Thani, Phuket, Satun, and Trang.
People in 63 districts have been affected, totaling 9,949 households, with a total of 47 cases and 816 injuries. Furthermore, from the situation monitoring, it was found that 9 provinces are at risk of high rainfall accumulation and landslides from September 20 to 22, including Ubon Ratchathani, Phitsanulok, Trat, Surin, Loei, Nakhon Ratchasima, Sisaket, Sakon Nakhon, and Uttaradit.

Ubon Ratchathani Province on High Alert
At the same time, the meeting monitored the situation in Ubon Ratchathani Province. It was found that there are 5 districts and 40 villages at risk of Mekong River flooding, namely Khemarat, Natan, Pho Sai, Si Mueang Mai, and Khong Chiam.
Systems and measures have been put in place to support them, including organizing a system to direct patients both by land and air. Ready to help 2,393 vulnerable groups near the Mekong River.
