Tropical⁤ Storm Sulik⁢ Approaches Thailand: Meteorological‍ Department Issues Warning

The Meteorological Department has issued ⁣an announcement ⁤regarding ⁣tropical storm “Sulik”, which made landfall in Quang Tri City, Vietnam at 16:00 today (September 19,⁣ 2024). The ⁣storm’s center is approximately 250 kilometers east of Nakhon Phanom Province, with a maximum wind ⁣speed near the center of about 65 kilometers per hour.

The storm⁣ is moving westward at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour and is expected to weaken into a depression and a strong low-pressure area. The monsoon depression is‌ quite‍ strong⁤ in the northern, central, and northeastern regions.

Strong ⁤Southwest Monsoon Expected

From September 19 to ⁤22, 2024, a strong southwest monsoon will cover the Andaman Sea, the southern region, and the Gulf of Thailand. This will cause heavy to very heavy⁤ rainfall in some areas, with​ strong winds and high waves.

Boaters ⁤are advised to navigate with caution and avoid sailing in⁣ thunderstorm areas. Ships in the Andaman ​Sea and the Gulf of Thailand should also refrain from landing during this period.
