Special Weather Warning
The Observatory issued a special weather warning at 9:50 a.m., stating that a broad trough of low pressure located in the northern part of the South China Sea is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong. There is a low-pressure area above the trough about 80 kilometers east-northeast of the Hong Kong Observatory. The central wind and convection are weak and have not yet reached tropical cyclone intensity.
Tropical Depression Prasan
Tropical Depression Prasan gathered about 280 kilometers west of Jeju and was expected to move northeast or east-northeast at a speed of about 22 kilometers per hour, crossing the Yellow Sea and gradually evolving into an extratropical cyclone. The low-pressure area located in the sea east of Taiwan is bringing unstable weather to the area.
