Storm Bert‘s Impact and Warnings
Storm Bert is affecting the west and northwest of the country, causing high winds.
Current Wind Warnings:
- Counties Clare, Kerry, and Galway: Wind warning until 7 PM today.
- Counties Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo: Wind warning until 2 AM tomorrow.
- County Donegal: Wind warning until 8 AM tomorrow.
Met Éireann warns of fallen trees and debris on roads, making travel difficult.
UK Weather Warnings:
The UK Met Office issued a wind warning for counties Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down, Fermanagh, and Tyrone. This warning is active until 6 PM today and may disrupt travel and utilities.
Electricity Restoration Efforts:
ESB crews work to restore power to homes and businesses affected by the storm. Out of 60,000 customers who lost power, nearly all have had their electricity restored, with a few thousand still awaiting reconnection.
Flood Recovery Efforts:
