Storm No. 3 Relief Efforts Get a Boost: Overseas Vietnamese Unite to Donate Over 600 Million VND

Overseas Vietnamese Donate to Support Compatriots‍ Affected by Storm No. 3

On September 13, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs‍ and Chairwoman of the ⁤State Committee for ‌Overseas Vietnamese ‍Affairs ​Le Thi ⁤Thu Hang presented over 600 million VND ⁣to Chairman of the Central Committee of the⁢ Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien. This donation, made on ‍behalf of the Vietnamese⁤ community in Laos, Japan, and the Russian Federation, aims to​ support compatriots in ​the country ⁤affected by storm No. ⁢3.

During the ceremony, Deputy Minister Le ⁣Thi​ Thu Hang reported to Chairman Do Van⁢ Chien that upon receiving news of the storm’s damage, the ⁣Vietnamese‌ community abroad immediately organized a fundraising campaign to support those affected. The Deputy Minister also presented 300⁤ million VND on behalf of the Vietnamese community in Ufa City, Bashkortostan (Russia), to support flood victims.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang shared‌ that these donations are the first from⁢ overseas Vietnamese to be transferred to⁣ the Central Committee of ⁣the Vietnam Fatherland⁣ Front through the State Committee for⁤ Overseas⁣ Vietnamese. Although the amount may not be substantial, it demonstrates the sympathy and sharing of overseas Vietnamese ‌for their compatriots in the country. The donation movement⁤ is expected to continue spreading strongly in communities worldwide.

Chairman Do ⁣Van Chien, on behalf of the Central Committee of⁣ the Vietnam Fatherland Front ⁢and ​the people⁤ affected‍ by natural disasters, thanked and appreciated the sentiments and timely sharing of overseas Vietnamese. This gesture demonstrates the ⁢spirit of “overseas Vietnamese are⁣ an​ inseparable part” of the Vietnamese nation. ‍Mr. Do Van Chien assured that the Vietnam Fatherland Front ​is committed to​ transferring the ‌support money to the⁣ right address as ‍desired ⁣by the people.

Chairman ​Do⁣ Van Chien also shared updates on the relief activities for people affected by storm No. 3. The Front is coordinating with relevant agencies to transport necessities such as ‍food, drinking water, and ​vegetables to people ​in areas affected by natural disasters, including Tuyen Quang, Thai⁤ Nguyen, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai. He expressed his wish to continue receiving the sharing and cooperation of overseas Vietnamese for⁢ people⁢ in flood-affected areas.
