Overseas Vietnamese Communities Unite to Support Flood-Affected Families in Phu Tho Province
On September 25, a joint charity effort by the Vietnamese Association of Kansai Region/Japan, the Golden Lotus Charity Association of Berlin/Germany, the Association for Liaison with Vietnamese People Abroad, and the Bamboo Vietnamese Language School brought much-needed aid to households affected by storms and floods in Doan Hung district, Phu Tho province.
The Association for Liaison with Vietnamese People Abroad donated 4,000 notebooks and 2,000 pens, while the Vietnamese community in the Kansai/Japan region and the Bamboo Vietnamese Language School contributed 3 tons of rice. The Institute of Applied Technology & Educational Development and Educhain Vietnam Company also donated 2 tons of rice and necessities. The Golden Lotus Charity Association of Berlin/Germany provided a generous donation of 60 million VND and visited several severely affected households in Hung Xuyen commune, Doan Hung district.
Ms. Le Thuong, President of the Vietnamese Association of Kansai Region and Vice President of the Federation of Vietnamese Associations in Japan, emphasized the significance of the Hung King Commemoration ceremony, which serves as a reminder to Vietnamese people of their ancestral roots and the importance of gratitude.
Ms. Le Thuong highlighted the symbolic nature of the donations, stating that they represent the heartfelt support of the Vietnamese community in the Kansai region and the broader overseas Vietnamese community, who remain committed to their homeland and relatives affected by the recent storms and floods.
“As Vietnamese people living abroad, we always look towards our homeland with love and affection. We hope that the sun will shine brightly on the Land of the Patriarchs, the economy will flourish, and people will soon return to their production activities,” Ms. Le Thuong shared.
The joint charity effort demonstrates the strong bonds between the overseas Vietnamese community and their homeland, as well as their commitment to supporting those in need.
